“Run This Town” To Be Featured in CBS’ Thursday Night Football

CBS’ newly appointed Thursday Night Football is trying to kick off the season on a high note September 11, gearing up to include their new theme song for the program (produced and directed by Pete Radovich) in almost one week. To rival the Sunday Night intro with Carrie Underwood and whatever ESPN has for theirs, CBS is calling JAY Z, Rihanna and Kanye West to use “Run This Town” and start every game, alongside narration from Don Cheadle.

They’re obviously trying to dethrone NBC’s ratings from the weekly football festivities.

CBS is taking a gamble too, because they have moved Emmy Award-winning The Big Bang Theory to Monday, as well as other shows like The Millers, and Two And A Half Men, to accommodate the weekly Thursday night game schedule.

Thursday Night Football kicks off next week when the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2. Jim Nantz, Phil Simms and Tracy Wolfson will be there for the broadcast.
