Jerry Jones Says Tony Romo Will Be Dak Prescott’s Backup Next Week

The battle of quarterbacks in Dallas is officially over — for now. After an 8-1 start (the Dallas Cowboys are the only team in the NFL with one loss) and a comeback 35-30 victory of the Pittsburgh Steelers yesterday, Jerry Jones has finally addressed the elephant in the room and named Dak Prescott the starter for next week’s game. This comes after weeks of avoiding the question and/or saying Tony Romo is the quarterback for the team.

But he could no longer hold out and has to ride the “hot hand.” Or, you know, go with the proven guy right now who is just beginning his career and has way more upside.

Romo will be active and is coming off injury, but with Prescott impressing week after week, you can’t help but to think that it’s a wrap for the ageing QB and the future consists of Dak and Ezekiel Elliott. The Cowboys really hit a grand slam drafting them both this past season.

Trade offers for Tony coming soon?
