Jim Ross Officially Leaves WWE to Join AEW, Rants About Why He Departed

RELATED: WWE Has Legit Competition with AEW

Earlier this year, Cody Rhodes upstarted AEW, with the help of a billionaire owner. The plan is to make professional wrestling great again, which has been plagued by the WWE since purchasing both WCW and ECW back in 2001. After witnessing other promotions come up short in competition, Cody is putting together a group of collective minds that all want the same goal.

Not necessarily to put Mr. McMahon out of business, but bring fresh air to the business. Well, with little hype surrounding WrestleMania, All Elite Wrestling has dropped a major bomb on the industry. Jim Ross has officially inked a new three-year deal with the promotion, which will include commentary work and serving as a senior adviser to talent.

Considering the company is holding their Double or Nothing PPV on May 25th in a few weeks, this move could’ve been planned for months. Jim Ross didn’t hold back either on his disagreements with in-ring side of things at WWE and feels they’ll get exposed soon.
