Jimmy Butler Signs with Miami Heat on Max Deal after Trade with 76ers

Welcome to Wade County!

When Dwayne Wade first announced his retirement last summer, the Miami Heat were already looking to find a successor to the face of the franchise.

With Pat Riley going all out to convince Jimmy that Miami would be the place for him and his immediate family; the team made a blockbuster move.

This evening, Miami announced that the team had inked Butler to a four-year, $142M maximum contract; agreeing to a sign-and-trade with the Philadelphia 76ers.

As part of the trade, the team will be sending guard Josh Richardson to the 76ers, and also have plans on moving Goran Dragic for additional additional salary cap help.

We expect Jimmy to become the face of the franchise immediately, as Pat will be looking to build a real contender in the open east.

On top of that, the team is also working on a deal for Bradley Beal, who’s currently on the Washington Wizards. It’s unclear who the Heat will give up for him, but we’re assuming it’ll be a collection of younger players and a possible future 1st-rounder. Let us know in the comments what you think of this move for Jimmy.
