John Wall Hits Clutch 3-Pointer to Beat Celtics and Force Game 7

It was a wild game!

In this series, the home team has not lost. But the Washington Wizards knew that wasn’t enough to get the W against the Boston Celtics on Friday night. They had to go out there and compete. We’ve seen plenty of teams take the L at home during a Game 6 in this postseason and the Wizards didn’t want to become the next victim.

They had a little extra drive, especially after the Celtics showed up in all black and trolled the Wiz, acting like tonight would be the funeral of their season.

The game stayed close through three quarters but in the 4th quarter is when things turned up. Both teams were going back and forth for much of the time, taking the lead from each other down the stretch on multiple occasions and making it a nail biter.

Bradley Beal would hit a big 3-pointer. Then Avery Bradley would answer back with his own triple. Beal hit a crazy layup after breezing past the defense, then Al Horford would bank a shot down the stretch to take the lead. Isaiah Thomas hit had some big shots too. That’s how things went as the Wizards kept inching closer to the Celtics lead.

Then John Wall hit that monster 3-pointer after the in-bounds pass with 7.7 seconds left. Bradley was right in front of him and he still hit the shot from way downtown with a hand in his face.

He said he was looking for Beal on that play, but ended up taking the shot and making it. The crowd at the Verizon Center exploded and went bezerk.

Thomas had the chance to finish the series, but his triple from deep didn’t go in as time expired.

“Don’t come to my city wearing all black talking about it’s a funeral”

Both Thomas and Bradley finished with 27 points on the game, while Horford dropped 20 of his own. Unfortunately, their bench didn’t do much scoring this game.

On the other side of things, Beal was the game leading scorer with 33 points while Wall had 26 points. Markieff Morris also had 16 points on the night and made some clutch shots in the fourth quarter.

The series now goes to Boston for a Game 7, which will be played on Monday on TNT.

FINAL: WAS 92 | BOS 91
