Kevin Durant Reportedly Gives Teams List of Demands for Free Agency

Durant avoids free agency questions after game 7 loss

On the heels of Monday night’s Western Conference Finals game 7 meeting between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors, reports surfaced that Kevin Durant’s agent (see: It’s The Roc) talked to the Boston Celtics – ahead of next month’s free agency.

Butch Stearns of FOX 25 in Boston confirmed in an interview on WEEI, that Durant has given the franchise in-directly indication of players they should go after if he decides to return to green.

According to Stearns, he wants to go a championship-ready situation, similar to what Dub Nation and the San Antonio Spurs currently have. That would pretty much debunk rumors of him returning back home to the Washington Wizards or heading to Hollywood for the Los Angeles Lakers.

The alleged plan Durant has for free agency:

“I have this on pretty good authority: The Celtics have sat with his agent and other representatives of Durant. The Celtics do know — I don’t know who it is — but they do know who he would prefer to be brought here in a LeBron James-Chris Bosh-Dwyane Wade-like way. Because that’s how it works in the NBA. You need to know who the guy or guys that that guy wants, which would be a factor. Now, I don’t know if Durant’s told them that. But the Celtics know. They know. They’ve been told what group of guys he would want to come here.”

However, this isn’t just the case for the Celtics, as the Boston-based publication is reporting. This is a requirement for all teams interesting in landing him this summer. We’re still curious if Durant decides to leave Russell Westbrook in OKC, as the team was only one win away from reaching the NBA Finals – and more so, relieving many around the NBA of the Warriors being untouchable.

With Durant set to turn 28 this summer, the Thunder management should look into recruiting a play making point guard in free agency or acquire a better wing-defender that can knock down shots on a consistent basis. Let us know in the comments what you think will happen for KD’s free agency.
