Kevin Love to Miss Major Time for Cavaliers after Latest Knee Surgery

About that Melo-for-Love deal. . .

Over the weekend, Kevin Love played in a home-game against the Denver Nuggets, where he would have to leave with an apparent knee injury. Originally, medical staff believed it was just a simple swell-up, but they found out yesterday that he would unfortunately suffer a major season setback.

This morning, Love officially underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, with the help of Dr. David Altchek in New York. After the procedure was done, it was revealed that he would miss an estimate six weeks – giving him maybe a week or two to play before the playoffs.

With the team on the verge of signing playmaker Mario Chalmers, they’ll look to both Channing Frye and Derrick Williams to fill in the 20-point and 11-board a night production Kevin was having this season. Coincidentally, they’ll also get J.R. Smith back a few weeks before Love is cleared for action, as LeBron will have little to no time on resting up before the post-season.

The Washington Wizards, Boston Celtics and possibly the Toronto Raptors if they fix things, will be looking to sneak into top playoff positioning, for the second half of the year.
