Kevin Love Signs 4-year, $120M Extension with the Cavs

Money talks and the Cleveland Cavaliers are backing up what they said earlier this summer when they told the media that they wanted to keep Kevin Love around, post-LeBron James signing with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Today, the team announced a 4-year, $120M extension with Love, putting his original deal at 5 years, $145 million.

“I’d like to thank the Cleveland Cavaliers organization, Dan Gilbert and Koby Altman for having their trust in me and believing in our future. When I got traded here a few years back, I was committed to being here long term and I was committed to our culture, excellence in playing the game of basketball. And I think who we have on our team and who we have moving forward really reflects that.”

Kevin’s name is always swirling in trade rumors, but it’s good to see the organization has showed confidence for the future, as the team begins a new shift without LBJ.

According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, Love took $8 million less of the full max for the organization and give them more financial flexibility.

Cleveland. Thank You. Let’s get it.
