Kevin Love Talks Conversation with LeBron James & Decision to Stay with Cavaliers

Kevin Love, from a players point of view

Nearing the age of 27, Kevin Love is on the cusp of entering his prime years and wanted to ensure he had the best chance of winning an NBA Trophy before his later years creep in the 2020s. Last summer, he was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett – previous no. 1 picks of the NBA Draft. Like Chris Bosh, Love saw his role diminished alongside superstars LeBron James and Kyrie Irving and rumors of tension between the three started circulating. That all came to a halt a few weeks ago when he agreed to a 5-year, $110 million max deal with Cleveland, to ensure no more doubts whether or not he wanted to be a Cavalier.

In a recent video interview with the Players’ Tribute, Love opened up on how injuries throughout the team and coming up two games shy of an NBA Finals victory to the Golden State Warriors propelled his decision to remain in the land. Watch more from Love’s interview above, where he touches on his conversation with LeBron James ahead of free agency, his heart-to-heart with Cavs management and how the team really does have unfinished business.
