Kobe Bryant Wins Oscar for “Dear Basketball” Film

If you asked anybody about life after retiring from the NBA, nobody would have predicted this moment. Not even Kobe Bryant, who knew he wanted to write once he was done with the game. Now he’s out here winning Oscars.

Tonight, the 5-time Los Angeles Lakers champion won the prestigious award for the film Dear Basketball…, which was nominated for Best Short Film (Animated). He and Glen Keane accepted the award and talked about what it meant to them to achieve this.

The Black Mamba actually said he felt better winning this than any NBA championship.

Bryant has plenty of things in the works aside from what he’s been doing with ESPN, including his upcoming Detail show with the network.
