LA Clippers Owner Steve Ballmer Says He’s Open to a Rebrand

With the Los Angeles Clippers anticipating one of the most successful seasons in the franchise’s history, owner Steve Ballmer is considering making changes — if the fans are willing to cooperate and are with the rebrand.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, the most energetic owner in the NBA told the newspaper that the organization has an opportunity right now:

“We have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to really step our identity up another level. I don’t anticipate making a change, but we have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and that is the kind of thing you somehow do in consultation with your fans.”

Though he won’t relocate the team out of L.A., the logo, the name and anything else can change in the future. He’s already said that he wants to move the team out of STAPLES Center and in their own arena, so it’ll be interesting how the rebrand will happen in the future.
