The Lakers and D’Angelo Russell Have Mutual Interest in Free Agency

When Magic Johnson took over as President of Basketball Operations for the Los Angeles Lakers, one of his first orders of business was shipping D’Angelo Russell out of town to the Brooklyn Nets alongside Timofey Mosgov after clashing with Nick Young and causing friction in the locker room.

Fast forward to this off-season and now Russell is coming off an All-Star season, and the Lake Show are in need of a point guard.

According to Bleacher Report, if the Nets sign Kyrie Irving, D’Angelo is considering returning to the Lakers to play alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The organization are willing to meet with him face-to-face at the start of free agency.

The only question is how his style of play matches that of the Lake Show players currently in uniform.

At the end of the day, he’ll be interested in whatever team will get him the bag. One team to lookout for is the Indiana Pacers. They should make a run at him and plus, he’ll remain in the Eastern Conference so he can still have All-Star potential.
