Marc Gasol Hits Buzzer Beater in Overtime as Grizzlies Tie Series With Spurs

The Memphis Grizzlies do this every post season. They give a team a scare. Yes, Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph are two forces in the league, but the team is always counted out.

Tonight, they gave the No. 2 seeded San Antonio Spurs a double dose of heart, pulling off an overtime win at home to tie the first round of the Western Conference series to 2-2 a piece.

Between Kawhi Leonard spazzing out thanks to his 43 points, 8 rebounds and 6 steals, Mike Conley hitting clutch buckets, Andrew Harrison getting a major block down the stretch, and Gasol hitting that shot at the buzzer, this Grizzlies vs. Spurs matchup has turned into a thriller.

Seriously, that Gasol floater over LaMarcus Aldridge was incredible.

And that Leonard vs. Conley back-and-forth in the fourth quarter was the stuff out of ESPN 30 for 30 documentaries. Just listen to the energy on the announcer.

Grizz coach David Fizdale doesn’t even have words for how to guard Leonard. He was at the post-game press conference asking for suggestions for how to solve his problem.

That boy Kawhi is a problem.

Game 5 between these two is headed back to San Antonio on Tuesday and things have just gotten interesting. If it keeps at this pace, it might go seven games.
