Memphis now looks to their bench to at least maintain playoff bid

Over the summer, the Memphis Grizzlies made sure their number one priority was resigning Marc Gasol to a maximum deal. Just in the first season of his recent five-year, $110 million deal, Gasol unfortunately injured his foot in a Monday night overtime loss to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Gasol, who was already dealing with injuries in his left foot, broke his right foot and immediately left the game with help from trainers and staff at the Smoothie King Center. Marc started all 52 games this season and after a MRI revealed a fracture in his right foot, the team ruled him out indefinitely. Whether or not Gasol has surgery on the leg remains to be seen, but we’re almost sure he’ll like miss the remainder of the year – especially after they lose their post-season positioning.
