Mark Cuban on Old Owners Meetings, Not Selling Mavs for $3 Billion Dollars

Love him or hate him (or just watch him on Shark Tank, or courtside at the Dallas Mavericks games), Mark Cuban is one of the most popular owners in the NBA.

After getting Charles Barkley (and Ben Affleck) in last week’s episode of Any Given Wednesday, Bill Simmons invited Cuban to the show and he had some shit to say about owners meetings back in the day. It turns out that when he first came into the league, none of the owners would talk during meetings and when he finally spoke up, there was one particular owner that straight up told him to “shut the fuck up” and stay out of the way because he didn’t know shit about the league.

NBA Commissioner David Stern had to calm everyone down before things got out of control.

Interestingly, Bill talked about how teams are worth over $1 billion dollars nowadays and asked Mark if he would ever sell the team for $3 billion dollars. He adamantly said no. According to Cuban, what does he need that much money for? God bless him.

It seems like the Mavericks make him happier.
