The $11K crotch grab
If you watched last week’s Seattle Seahawks vs. Arizona Cardinals division matchup, you probably saw Marshawn Lynch run a career-high 79-yard touchdown on Sunday Night Football. You may or may not have caught his gesture during the end of the play, when he grabbed his jewels in celebration, though.
Apparently the NFL did, because they have fined the Pro Bowl running back $11,050 for the unsportsmanlike gesture. The referees didn’t flag him on the play but the league found the gesture worthy of a fine after reviewing the play following the game.
Lynch has been involved in various reports that he might retire or completely leave the Seahawks after the season is a wrap. The team is poised to make another Super Bowl run so it’ll be interesting to see what he does.
