Michael Jordan Congratulates LeBron Jordan on Passing Him in Scoring List

Even though the Los Angeles Lakers lost another game at home at the hands of the Denver Nuggets last night, LeBron James is still on a high from making history.

With his 31 points on the night, he passed Michael Jordan on the NBA’s all-time scoring list, putting him at fourth right behind Kobe Bryant. As much as he’s compared to his Airness, this achievement will certainly be one he’ll hang over MJ for the rest of his career as one of the greats.

While everyone has congratulated King James for this accomplishment since it happened, one came from the man he passed up himself:

After the game, this is what LeBron had to say about this feat:

“Of all the stuff I’ve done in my career, this ranks right up there at the top with winning a championship.

For a kid from Akron, Ohio, that needed inspiration and needed some type of positive influence, MJ was that guy for me. I watched him from afar, wanted to be like MJ, wanted to shoot fadeaways like MJ, wanted to stick my tongue out on dunks like MJ, wanted to wear my sneakers like MJ. I wanted kids to look up to me at some point like MJ and it’s just crazy, to be honest. It’s beyond crazy.”
