New York Basketball Legend Signs with Houston Rockets to Possibly Replace Chris Paul

Daryl Morey has been doing everything over the last few weeks to find a trading partner for Chris Paul. With the New York Knicks turning down an offer earlier this month, the team is looking to find a scoring addition for James Harden and Jimmy Butler – who we keep hearing is leaning towards signing a deal with the Houston Rockets.

Over the weekend, the Rockets made a shocking move and signed un-drafted point guard, Shamorie Ponds, who’s been a NYC legend on the courts over the last five years. From winning state championship for Thomas Jefferson in Brooklyn back in 2016, he quickly earned back-to-back first team honors in the Big East.

The Rockets are looking to add youth at their point guard position, which he should be able to acquire major minutes in Houston – with the team lacking depth at the one.

Look for him on their summer league team in a few days, and a likely full-length season deal in the coming months. Peep highlights in full below.
