The Jets have a new man at the helm

After cleaning house and getting rid of Rex Ryan and John Idzik on Black Monday, the New York Jets have already found their head coach and GM to replace them. Todd Bowles has signed on to coach the team next year and will be on contract for about four years $4 million. As far as GM, Mike Maccagnan will be the man making moves inside the administration.

Bowles follows the track record the Jets have had, hiring another defensive minded coach following the firing of Ryan. The New Jersey native and former Jets assistant will look to rebuild the team after a disappointing 4-12 season last year. Considering his strength is defense, he will at least get a strong defense and bring a scheme from Arizona that ranked 9th in the league in 2014.

New York had to move quickly before another organization picked up his services and they didn’t feel like waiting for Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn to be available for an interview if/when the team would be out of the playoffs.

Bowles is looking to hire Chan Gailey as offensive coordinator.
