New York Names David Fizdale New Head Coach of the Team

When you saw reports about the New York Knicks coaching search this season, it seemed like they interviewed every single candidate alive. They were linked to dozens of names, but the search ends today after they named David Fizdale their newest head coach.

The two sides met on Thursday, when owner James Dolan gave his blessing to president Steve Mills and GM Scott Perry on the hiring.

According to sources, the Knicks were eyeing Fizdale the whole times, as he was one of the lead candidates for the job. In his one full season with the Memphis Grizzlies, he led them to the playoffs, so the organization hopes he can do the same for New York. The team is currently on a postseason drought and have managed to somewhat bounce back since Phil Jackson caused chaos during his tenure.
