The biggest story in the NBA this whole season has definitely been Kevin Durant and whether or not he’ll be staying with the Golden State Warriors or move on to the “greener pastures” of the New York Knicks with his own team.
Though no decision has been made or announced yet, Nike is riding with the fact that KD could stay in the Bay Area with Dub Nation with a new T-Shirt.
If you hit up KD’s section on the Nike website, you’ll see they have a “Stay True” t-shirt that’s sold out, but what’s on the back is what’s interesting. They’ve basically listed all of the spots that Durant has played in, with the last city on there being San Francisco.
Considering this is the last season the Warriors play in Oakland, it’s peculiar that San Francisco would be on there (the CHASE Center in SF opens next year), especially on a shirt from the company that sponsors him. They wouldn’t lose out on millions of dollars printing this up if they didn’t have some type of foreshadowing.
If they didn’t have an inside track on what KD was going to do, why not just leave it Oakland as the last city? Either way, it’s very interesting.
Of course, it’s all speculation still. But maybe Nike really has the juice.
