Rajon Rondo Signs with Lakers on A 1-Year Deal

The New Orleans Pelicans made a solid step in the right direction this past playoff season, sweeping the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round. They were poised for a big run, but met their match when they faced the Golden State Warriors. If they would have played the Utah Jazz or Houston Rockets, they could have given either a scare and/or advanced to Western Conference Finals if they played the Jazz.

A big part of the reason they saw postseason success and throughout the season was because of Rajon Rondo. Now, the Pelicans take a huge blow because he’s going out to sunny California and joining LeBron James on the Los Angeles Lakers.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, it’s on a 1-year, $9 million dollar deal.

Playoff Rondo will certainly bring IQ and experience to the young team, but with Lance Stephenson already in town, will that be too many strong personalities on the squad? At the least, Lonzo Ball can soak up game for one year from one of the best point guards of all time.
