Spurs Eliminate the Rockets From Playoffs Without Kawhi Leonard

After that Manu Ginobli block on James Harden and this game tonight against the San Antonio Spurs, it seems like the wind was blown out of the Houston Rockets. So much, they couldn’t even find the will to tie the series at home in Game 6.

The Spurs didn’t even play with Kawhi Leonard, who tweaked his ankle last game and didn’t even play in the crucial overtime period for Game 5.

Harden tried to get his teammates involved to start the game, but they didn’t show up to play. He couldn’t even get his own shot going, playing what could possibly be his worst game of the season. He only scored 10 points for the night, and dished out 7 assists. That’s definitely not the type of performance we’re used to seeing from him.

Let’s not forget the six turnovers either. Some led to easy fast break opportunities for the Spurs.

And the man who didn’t show up for San Antonio for the first few games of the series? Yeah, LaMarcus Aldridge. Somehow, he balled out in Leonard’s absence. The veteran finished the game with 34 points and 12 rebounds and he looked like a beast out there.

Jonathan Simmons was no slouch either. The boy dropped 18 points on them.

Obviously, this isn’t the way the Rockets wanted to go out (a 39 point blowout), but they had an incredible season and they should be proud of the work they accomplished. Nobody really expected them to exceed expectations like this.

The Spurs will face the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals.

FINAL: SAS 114 | HOU 75
