The Golden State Warriors are currently playing the Portland Trail Blazers in the 2016 NBA playoffs and although their star Steph Curry hasn’t been seen in the series (or much of the post season), his play during the season has been recognized by the league.

According to ESPN, Curry will be named this year’s MVP for the second straight season, possibly becoming the first unanimous vote in NBA history. he also becomes the 11th player in the league to achieve back-to-back awards since LeBron James did it in 2012-13 with the Miami Heat.

The Warriors are set to make the announcement when the team returns to Oakland for Game 5.

Among some of the accomplishments Steph racked up this year: becoming the first guard to record an average of 30 ppg in under 35 minutes of game time, demolishing his own record for 3-pointers made in a season (402), and joining the 50 percent from the floor, 45 percent from 3-point range and 90 percent from the line club.

Although Curry’s status for the series is still uncertain, his return to the basketball should be soon, with reports coming out that he is shooting around and preparing to make his way back to the court.

UPDATE: After last night’s heroic performance against the Blazers, the NBA has announced that Steph has become the first player in NBA history to be voted unanimous MVP. You can check out a breakdown of the votes below.
