Super Bowl XLVIII Was Most Watched Show In U.S. History

Are you really surprised? Today FOX announced that last night’s Super Bowl XLVIII was the most watched TV show in U.S. history. The match-up between the Broncos and Seahawks raked in a crazy 111.5 million viewers, topping last years total (and previous record holder) of 111.3 million. The only down side was that the game was a boring blowout from the opening play. Regardless, it still proves that the NFL is king in the United States and people will tune into the Super Bowl no matter what.

TV ratings weren’t the only record broken, though. MetLife Stadium broke the record for biggest attendance at a Super Bowl. That adds to the consensus that the NYC Super Bowl experience was a tremendous success. A big congrats to Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers for securing the highest viewed halftime show of all time too.
