The Broncos Hand the Patriots Their First Loss Of The Year

UNDEFEATED NO MORE!

No Peyton Manning. No Danny Amendola. No Dion Lewis. These are just some of the players missing on offense from both sides of the field and more would suffere a similar fate by the time the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots left Mile High Stadium. Not only did this game not feature a Manning vs. Brady matchup, but Brock Osweiler was facing the 10-0 Pats team who seemed unstoppable even with multiple injuries.

But everything comes to an end sooner of later.

Keeping the score relatively close for much of the game under brutal cold weather and snow, Osweiler ended up being the hero, marching the Broncos to the end zone when it counted the most and completing a fourth quarter comeback in their 30-24 route of undefeated New England.

During the 4th quarter with under two minutes to play, Brock remained calm and completed some crucial passes, including a floater to Demayrius Thomas, which gave them great field position. A few silly penalties by the Patriots gave Denver a better shot at the end zone and Osweiler lobbed one to Andre Caldwell, putting them up three.

In crunch time, Tom Brady took the Patriots up the field and Stephen Gostkowski tied the game up with a 47-yard field goal (IN THE SNOW!) to send the match to overtime. The bad news, during that drive Rob Gronkowski went down with a knee injury that seemed very serious.

In overtime, the Broncos defense put the pressure on Brady and company on the first drive, making them punt the ball after a three and out.

Then on a crucial 3rd and 1, Osweiler tossed the ball to C.J. Anderson, who found the holes and sprinted almost untouched for the game-winning 53-yard touchdown. Anderson ended the game with 113 yards on 15 carries and two touchdowns on the day.

Boy wonder Osweiler finished 23/42 for 270 yards and 1 touchdown on the day.

Denver faces the San Diego Chargers next weekend in Southern California and are now 9-2, with the Patriots dropping to 10-1 and facing the Philadelphia Eagles at home next Sunday.

FINAL: NE 24 | DEN 30
