Throughout the spring, Magic Johnson has been campaigning for the Los Angeles Lakers to target this year’s free agent class of LeBron James and Kevin Durant. While it’s likely that either superstar will take their talents to LA, Bill Simmons of HBO Sports has revealed some major news.

According to talks within Lakers front office, the team is putting focus on potentially acquiring Paul George this summer, with trading their top three pick to the Indiana Pacers for the stand-out star.

Last year, Larry Bird broke up the entire core roster of Indiana, leaving Paul on an island by himself; but he managed to take his team a first-round game 7 against the Toronto Raptors last week.

George, who’s a native of Los Angeles, could be returning home, but we’re sure the Pacers will be reluctant to trade away their valuable asset. With his previously injured leg completely healed and his youth still in-tact for a prime run, the Lakers entire immediate future of their franchise all depends on if they’ll have a guaranteed top pick after the NBA Draft Lottery on May 17th.
