The OKC Thunder Are Contemplating a Paul George Trade Before February Deadline

Should OKC get compensation for PG-13?

During the off-season, the OKC Thunder made a blockbuster move, acquiring both Carmelo Anthony and Paul George. While it looks like Melo will likely stay and play out the rest of his contract through summer 2019, PG-13 isn’t sold on making this thing a full-time commitment.

This week, Thunder management inquired whether or not Paul would be inking contract extension; but George said he would wait until the season was over to make a decision.

Well, according to Bleacher Report and multiple general managers around the league, there’s a growing belief that OKC could actually trade PG before his upcoming summer 2018 free agency.

Surprisingly, the Thunder have finally got on a hot-streak, winning 10 of their last 13 games; but something still feels out of synch with the three stars. George told BR, “Well, I think this is a different scenario because it’s our only year together as far as we’re on one-year contracts.

I want to put everything into this and see where that takes us. I’m not giving up; I’m not giving in. I want to give this thing everything I have and we’ll see where it goes. We all enjoy playing with one another. This could possibly be me being here for multiple years. But … I’m not going to just throw it in and be like, ‘No, I’m done with this.’ We’ve got a long, long, long season ahead of us.”

So, with George just committed to the season, a first-round exit and nothing beyond, let us know in the comments if you think a legit trade could happen before February.
