It’s really a dumb fallout. . .
Last week, 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather exchanged words through interviews, where neither went too far left field to disrespect each other. This dates back to 2012, when Floyd Mayweather spent two months in jail for false allegations in Las Vegas. In that time, Fifty became a licensed boxing promoter, forming his new company, at the time, TMT (The Money Team).
He initially got clearance to promote in New York, and was looking to get licensing in Nevada, but that was stopped. Miscommunications was the biggest issue with Kanan trying to get Floyd’s right-hand guy out of the way, Al Haymon, owner of Premier Boxing Champions.
Going behind Floyd’s back and not trying to work with Haymon to get his foot in the door of boxing, essentially ended his entire career as a promoter. Floyd picking Al over 50 Cent is the real reason of their falling out, as 50 thought he was Floyd’s right-hand guy.
Like previously stated, Fif revealed that he owns the TMT trademark and could stop it anytime he wants.
However, it wouldn’t really affect Floyd, who generates the bulk of his income through PBC and its marquee fighters that work for him; (Deontay Wilder, Errol Spence Jr., Manny Pacquiao, Gervonta Davis, etc.). If you payed attention to the interviews, 50 said Floyd was still his guy and really meant it.
When Fifty fell on hard times in 2009 (yes a-list celebrities aren’t always rich); he stayed at Floyd’s mansion to rethink business plans and become the entertainment icon we see today. While at the mansion and clearing his soul, he also met the mother of his beautiful 7-year-old son, and the rest was history.
So, as much as Kanan comes off that he has a real issue with Floyd; he still loves him and the same vice versa. Mayweather refuses to entertain the idea of a back-and-forth, which we unfortunately saw Fifty brining up the sad suicide of Earl Hayes that Floyd had to witness some years back on facetime.
