Tyler Ulis Hits Crazy Buzzer Beater Against Celtics

The Phoenix Suns are young and currently near the bottom of the standings in the Western Conference, but have a promising future. The Boston Celtics do too, but they’re on an opposite trajectory. They’re sitting at the top of the Eastern Conference standings and look to be one of the teams to threaten the Cleveland Cavaliers in the postseason.

Tonight, the Suns got the best of them thanks to a dramatic buzzer beating shot by Tyler Ulis.

With 11 seconds left, Eric Bledsoe took the ball up the court and took it to the rock for the tie. He wasn’t trying to be a hero and potentially lose the game. He took it straight to the hoop and was hoping for overtime. It looked like it was headed that way, only because the Celtics had four seconds to take it up the court and throw up the prayer.

Then on the in-bound, the unthinkable happened.

Isaiah Thomas lost the ball thanks to Marquese Chriss‘ defense and Ulis came up with the loose ball. He took a step back and launched the three-pointer for the win as regulation expired.

The bench exploded. The crowd went bonkers. It was his first buzzer beater of his career. Tyler played 33 minutes and dropped 20 points off the bench for Phoenix.

Thomas had 35 points and 5 assists to end the game, but the squad still lost.

FINAL: PHO 109 | BOS 106
