After some players declined and plenty of invitations given out, the final roster for USA Baskteball at this year’s Rio Olympics has been set.
Among those picked for the Mike Krzyzewski-coached squad include, Carmelo Anthony, Harrison Barnes, Jimmy Butler, DeMarcus Cousins, DeMar DeRozan, Kevin Durant, Paul George, Draymond Green, Kyrie Irving, DeAndre Jordan, Kyle Lowry, and Klay Thompson.
The team features two previous gold medalists from the 2012 team (Anthony and Durant), with four on the roster having played in his year’s NBA Finals. George also makes his comeback after suffering a gruesome injury that kept him out for an entire year following.
The Rio Olympics team will play some exhibition games at the end of July against China, Venezuela and Nigeria, with the basketball portion of the games starting on August 20.
