Last night’s NBA Summer League action was postponed due to an earthquake but it pitted two former Duke teammates against each other. Zion Williamson’s New Orleans Pelicans battled against the New York Knicks in Las Vegas to kick off the professional careers of this year’s No. 1 and No. 3 picks in the NBA Draft.
Unfortunately, Williamson missed the second half due to injury. Turns out, he will miss the remainder of Summer League due to a bruised left knee.

Zion finished with nine points and some highlights in his time on the court, including a steal from Kevin Knox that felt like he took his soul.
If you were looking forward to seeing Williamson on the court this summer, you’re going to have to wait until the season starts. The Pelicans are being extra cautious with the franchise center piece and will not risk him getting any more injured in the long run.
Summer League action resumes today.
