Earlier today was NBA media day for the purple and gold team as newly acquired all-stars, Dwight Howard and Steve Nash made their first public appearances with Kobe Bryant, Ron Artest and Pau Gasol.
To say pressure is on this team to get the Mamba a sixth title would be an understatement as Kobe has the most talented starting five he’s seen in his entire career. The team held their first practice today with their first pre-season game scheduled for this Sunday against Golden State.
Dwight Howard, who is coming fresh off of back surgery, was initially scheduled to be out until 2013 at the latest; is now feeling so good, he’s targeting an opening night return against the Dallas Mavericks. Should be an interesting Western Conference here people with the Lakers looking to dethrone the Thunder for supremacy in the West.
