We all saw Kyrie Irving be crowned this year’s NBA 2K18 cover star, but little did we know the video game giant had some more announcements up their sleeves.
For the first time ever, NBA 2K will be releasing a Canadian edition of the game and We The North is representing right. DeMar DeRozan from the Toronto Raptors will be the athlete to grace one of the three covers (as you can see above) for this year’s basketball game.
“It was just an honor to be mentioned – to have a conversation of me even having an option to be on it. It was something I didn’t even honestly believe when my agent first came to me and told me. So now to see the cover, and for it to be released, it’s something that I still don’t believe. It’s definitely an honor.
I remember being a kid, creating a player in the video game, and being excited just doing that. The next thing was being in the college basketball game, and then the next thing, being in the NBA game. Seeing your face, seeing yourself evolve in the game, and looking even more real, to hearing your voice in the game, to now, being on the cover. It’s something that’s extremely awesome and definitely mind-blowing.”

You can cop NBA 2K18 on September 15th if you pre-ordered ahead of time, and if you didn’t, the game will be available to the rest of the public on September 19th.
