Pending gameplay footage, Sony’s #DRIVECLUB could potentially be seeing a competitor later this year.

We guess Sony’s highly-anticipated PlayStation 4 racer #DRIVECLUB won’t be the only racer hitting retail this fall, as Microsoft officially announced the next entry into their flagship racing series Forza will be arriving this year. Those of you still downloading content for the original Forza Horizon on Xbox 360, that weren’t fan of Forza Motorsport 5, will be thrilled to finally see a true next-gen splash of the racer later this year. Developers Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games revealed Forza Horizon 2 will be a cross-platform release for both Xbox One and Xbox 360, which is expected to see an official reveal during Microsoft’s e3 pressing next week.

Those of you sketchy whether the title will see a hindrance in a true form of Xbox One’s presentation need to not worry, as Microsoft revealed Playground is developing a totally different version not related to the Xbox 360 predecessor. The UK developer has also revealed the title will feature the 2015 Lamborghini Huracán, along with the long-awaited weather system to make its debut after nearly 10 years after its original release. Contrary to previous rumors of the racing simulator taking in place in New Orleans, it will actually set in Europe and also featuring the inclusion of Forza Motosport’s 5 Drivatar system. Look for more details to emerge later this week, including first screens, before it’s gameplay reveal at e3.
