Boost Mode BEAST MODE!

As owners of both Xbox One and PlayStation 4, we normally tend to never purchase multi-console games from Sony. However, with Microsoft’s growing trend of keeping all titles not named Gear of War 4 at a 30-frames-per-second cap, we’ve grown frustrated with the old Xbox.

We’re reserving a final decision until more details are revealed for next fall’s Scorpio, but it’s not looking good. The biggest addition to the PS4 Pro, is the newly added Boost Mode, which will let your latest console run at a higher GPU and CPU clock speed for smoother gameplay.

Most games launched before the PS4 Pro will be able to use this feature, and will have console-wide shorter load times, as well as a higher frame rate. This means, current games up scaled to 4K like Uncharted 4, NBA 2K17, Battlefield 1, DriveClub, Final Fantasy XV and this month’s release of the killer-app exclusive, Horizon: Zero Dawn, will see major overhauls in presentation.
