Sony Announces Price Hike for PlayStation Plus Subscription

Does this have something to do with Neo 4K and Project Morpheus.

As gamers, who own both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Sony’s online service has been light-years behind their competition, Microsoft. Prior to this week, the major problem some had with Xbox Live was its year-price of $59.99 USD – which caused many to just opt into offline gaming.

However, Sony has shared some unfortunate news regarding its PlayStation Plus membership prices. Beginning this September 22nd, Sony is price hiking annual their memberships from $49.99 USD to match the cost of Xbox Live; however, monthly membership will stay $9.99.

Regarding the recent price change, Sony went to say, “The new pricing reflects the current market conditions while enabling us to continue providing exceptional value to our members.”

While this is obviously something that will piss off a lot of fans, we’re hoping the presentation of PS+ becomes more modernized before the end of the year.
