Here’s the stars of the long-awaited Western, The Hateful Eight

Even with a brief teaser being show last month, Quentin Tarantino is still being very secretive about his upcoming must-see western, The Hateful Eight. The blockbuster film is set to hit theaters sometime later this year (following a script leak) and is given cover honors for this week’s edition of Entertainment Weekly.

In the new issue for The Hateful Eight, we get our first look at Samuel L. Jackson as Major Marquis Warren, Jennifer Jason Leigh (newcomer to the Tarantino-universe) as Daisy Domergue and Kurt Russell as John Ruth – The Hangman. After you take a glimpse at the three co-stars above, get a glimpse of the interview Quentin briefly discussing the filming process for the upcoming project before it hits newsstands tomorrow.

The film scales down from Tarantino’s last two films, the revisionist revenge epics Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained, going for something more intimate if no less violent, like a stick of dynamite in a shoebox. “For me it has more of a Western Iceman Cometh kind of vibe about it,” says Tarantino. The film also takes a belt from the bottle of the director’s first film Reservoir Dogs. “A bunch of guys in a room who can’t trust each other,” he says. “That wasn’t a marching order when I sat down to write the script, but pretty quickly I realized this is kind of a nice coming-full-circle.”
