“You see the websites that have the big pot leaf that are writing in stoner nomenclature and jargon. That’s not going to be us … I think that some of the professional writing out of the culture of cannabis hasn’t been fully explored.”

With the website, led by Denver Post’s marijuana editor Ricardo Baca, the site now joins publication. Ricardo was a recent guest on The Colbert Report, revealing to viewers the Post was taking a vested interest in the weed culture, as marijuana inches toward broad legalization. The website is intended to show locals marijuana product strain reviews, recipes for food, politics, and news feeds of interest for clients in the Denver area.

There’s even a map for the dispensary shops within the city streets. The first of many marijuana shops in Colorado will open their doors for the first time in U.S. history on Jan. 1, 2014, for those over 21 of age for any purpose. There’s a catch however. Customers can only buy up to an ounce of it at a time. The only cap limit on how much you purchase is the legal possession limit, as no citizen of Colorado who is not a medical-marijuana patient can possess more than an ounce of marijuana at a time.

But don’t worry folks, nothing in the state’s rules for recreational marijuana stores requires store owners to track how much a customer purchases. It is predicated that more than 100 others will make history on that day.

Happy New Years.
