I just can’t wait to be king.

Blessings just keep coming down for Donald Glover. Fresh off a Golden Globe win for his critically-acclaimed FX series Atlanta, the talented rapper, singer, songwriter and actor is heading to the big screen yet again. Glover has been cast as Simba in the upcoming live-action The Lion King remake as revealed by the film’s director Jon Favreau on Friday night.

This will be Favreau’s second live-action remake in the last year after taking the helm of the successful The Jungle Book remake. He’s also directing the sequel, The Second Jungle Book. Along with Glover, legendary actor James Earl Jones was also named as a co-star of the forthcoming film where he’s set to play Mufasa.

Donald Glover is also set to co-star in the upcoming movies Spider-Man: Homecoming and the untitled Han Solo film where he’ll take the role as Lando Calrissian. After these roles, Glover will follow it up with the second season of Atlanta in 2018.
