Last fall, HBO had breakout success with Westworld and its Awkward Black Girl spinoff, Insecure. While the premium network has said that the sci-fi western thriller Westworld won’t return to TV until late 2018, it’s green-lighted the return for its Los Angeles stand-out from Issa Rae.
Today, HBO and Issa announced that the official sophomore season of Insecure will premiere Sunday, July 23 at 10:30pm ET/PT, after episode two of Game of Thrones’ seventh season.
Its freshman year left many cliffhangers last fall, including Issa’s relationship status with her estranged boyfriend, Lawrence. Hopefully that chapter will be addressed for the season premiere this summer, as Ms. Issa Dee looks for help from friends Kelli, Molly and Tiffany.
