Mahershala Ali x TD3
Last March, HBO confirmed plans of True Detective season 3 being re-opened, with show creator Nic Pizzolatto penning the first two episodes. After hiring Emmy-winning writer-producer David Milch to help him finish up the script, the Time Warner Network is looking for plans of advancing the series. With Game of Thrones creators looking to delay the final season until 2019, we’re assuming the third season for True Detective could arrive as early as next summer.
This week, reports surfaced that Oscar Award-winning actor, Mahershala Ali (Moonlight), is in talks to star in the next season for HBO’s anthology. Although the deal isn’t complete, he’s set to have a lead role in the pending season, as the network is ensuring they have a high-quality script to present to other stars of Hollywood. Given that the premium network is actually taking their time with a story, we’re hopeful that its junior year doesn’t end up like 2015’s sophomore slump.
