HBO Speaks on ‘Game of Thrones’ Final Season for 2018

Game of Thrones returns in a few weeks!

Two weeks ago, HBO finally started the promotional campaign for their upcoming seventh season of Game of Thrones – releasing an official full-length trailer. Over the past few years, the premium network has stated that the final episode count for the series will be 13 over the next two years.

Well, with season 7 set to absorb seven of those air dates, HBO has now re-confirmed that no changes will be in place for the 2018 finale, saying that six longer episodes will air next summer.

Those of you who were hoping for more surprise episodes, are out of luck, as HBO won’t be making any changes to their pending production later this year. However, those four-spinoff series for the Game of Thrones Universe are becoming a real thing, which could begin by decade’s end. This week, members from the show were featured in this month’s issue for Entertainment Weekly, offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse into Westeros.

With showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss standing firm on their plans, take a look at a Stark Family reunion; which we’re having doubts of ever happening again in the fantasy-action series.
