Marvel Confirms When Phase 4 of Their Cinematic Universe Will Begin

Beginning 2019!

After months of speculation, Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, has shared news regarding the future of its comic-films division. As most of you should know, the Disney company is planning to start the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe – which began four years ago with Iron Man 3.

In an interview with io9, Feige confirmed that the fourth phase would officially start in 2019, with the release of Spider-Man Homecoming 2. He went to say, “So much happens in the 3rd and 4th Avengers movies, and so much is affected by it that we felt what better person to hold your hand and lead you into the next incarnation of the MCU, than Peter Parker? So, coming out two months after Untitled Avengers, that’s what much of what the next Spider-Man film will be about.”

We’re assuming after the epic conclusion of the untitled fourth Avenger title, just two months before the S.M.H.2. release, that the comic-book company will formally announce the multiple films for phase 4. Regarding Peter’s extremely young age, Feige explained how the move was done on purpose to set for their next division of projects.

Let us know in the comments if you’re okay with Spider-Man being a new focal point for the MCU.
