Microsoft Reveals ‘Windows 10’ Free Upgrade

Meet Windows 10: The Next Chapter

Today, Microsoft is currently holding their Windows 10 live event Redmond, Washington. While we’re waiting to see DirectX 12 and the Unreal Engine 4 proper presentation on their Xbox One console (see: Gears of War 4), Microsoft has detailed plans for its all new operating system. Users, who are currently running on Windows 8.1 or Windows 7 devices, will receive a free upgrade to Windows 10 in its first year. This isn’t a timed-giveaway either; you will own Windows 10 for life your laptops and desktops at no additional charges.

If you remember in 2013, Apple gave away their free OS X Mavericks upgrade, which Microsoft has now taken a page out of their rivals’ books to treat fans with a much-needed upgrade. Look for details to emerge in the coming weeks for an official roll-out release of the latest installment to the Windows NT family.
