Rihanna Declined Super Bowl Halftime in Support of Colin Kaepernick

It’s not every day you hear of artists turning down Super Bowl Halftime Show opportunities, but Rihanna is not your typical superstar.

According to US Weekly, Entertainment Tonight and Rolling Stone, RiRi declined her opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl LIII in support of Colin Kaepernick. Right now, he’s in a court battle with the league over a colluding case, after his kneeling of the national anthem caused headlines in 2017. Up until now, he still hasn’t found a job with any teams, as he continues the battle.

Maroon 5 is slated to perform for next year’s show, happening at Atlanta, at Georgia’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium on February 3, 2019.
