Under Armour Welcomes A$AP Rocky to the Team

When it’s all said and done, A$AP Rocky can go down as a fashion icon, in terms of rap. The Harlem rapper has secured a new partnership with Under Armour, as it was announced today, and plenty of things are in the works from both sides.

Rocky and UA will be teaming up for new products under the Under Armour Sportswear brand, as well as a community-based program for undeserved youth throughout the United States, including cities like Los Angeles, New York and Baltimore. This means new community centers will go up, existing ones will get upgraded and kids will be able to use their creativity, passions and hobbies to full use instead of getting caught up in the street life or distractions in the community.

Here’s what Pretty Flacko had to say about the new deal:

“I wanted more than a collaboration partner. The only way to achieve this is with someone who is likeminded. The Under Armour team, and especially CEO and Founder Kevin Plank, has a shared vision, enthusiasm, and desire to do the same. I grew up in Harlem, and had limited resources to channel my inner-creativity, so I spent too much time on the streets when I should have been more productive. I now have the ability to create a better situation for today’s kids so they can go from school to a safe place to create without boundaries. Under Armour was the company that was most excited about my idea to turn sportswear products on their head while bettering kids’ lives.”

A$AP Rocky joins the likes of Steph Curry, The Rock, Tom Brady, Cam Newton and more as part of the UA family, being one of the first rappers to do so.
