Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw are set to get their own spin-off film within The Fast & Furious Universe. This week, Universal confirmed that the Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham film would arrive July 26, 2019. Currently, the movie giant plans to take a three-year break from the main series.
The ideas of expanding the franchise have been in the words for nearly three years, as the two will likely team-up away from their Furious auto gang friends. In related news, Universal is pushing the ninth chapter of Fast & Furious to back April 10, 2020. Hopefully, this will give them time to hopefully create a better storyline, than we saw last spring in The Fate of the Furious.
While a director hasn’t been announced just yet, Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez are set to return to the series. In related news, Tyrese Gibson wasn’t fond of the idea of Rocky and Statham getting their own spin-off. Take a look at his rant below, and Vin Diesel’s response to the comments.
