We’re literally around the corner from summer and the big question has popped up on different occasions: Which song will be ‘Song of the Summer?’ Spotify has their picks and there are some certain rap picks in the mix. You know, aside from the usual pop picks.
So how did the streaming giant arrive to these picks? By their own special algorithm of course, that taps “the insights of its genre and trend experts, analyzing its streaming data, and considering factors such as a song’s performance on the charts, on key Spotify playlists, and how it’s performing over time.” Sounds like a formula for predictions.
Among those in their playlist include DJ Khaled, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Uzi Vert, Logic and Future. Selena Gomez, Liam Payne, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga are also in there, along with some other potential hits from newcomers. Shoutout to Quavo and Migos for making the cut on featured appearances too. You can’t be mad at them for that.
