If you’re an avid fan of Curren$y and Jet Life, then you should be familiar with Mousa. The man behind Spitta and co-owner of Street Customs in New Orleans (they’re actually currently building a car for Big K.R.I.T. in their spare time) has his hand in a little bit of everything nowadays and it’s more than you probably know about.
We caught up with Mous out in Los Angeles at the Diamond Supply Co. store on Fairfax, and he kicked plenty of behind-the-scenes knowledge about being a manager in 2013. In our conversation with him, he breaks down how he linked up with Curren$y in the first place, back in the Young Money days, a few of the misconceptions of being a manager and what he likes to keep busy when he’s not on the road.
Besides handling business for Spitta, Mousa also revealed that Jet Life is working on new ventures, including Jet Life clothing (they got tired of seeing so much bootleg merchandise on the road) and what his vision is for Street Customs management. He hopes that in that near future the empire grows and represents athletes, models, actors and branches out from just music. You’re only seeing the beginning of what’s to come.
Our thanks go out to Mousa, Curren$y, Cornerboy P, Nicky Diamonds and Jet Life.
Directed by OnSMASH.
